Biography: 

With over 40 years of diverse experience, Jim Proffitt is a seasoned professional adept at navigating the complexities of investment management, income and estate tax planning, and philanthropy for corporations, pension plans, individuals, and families.

Before co-founding ProffittGoodson in 1986, Jim distinguished himself as a CPA in private practice. There, he skillfully managed tax planning, preparation, and wealth transfer strategies for high-net-worth individuals. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at First Tennessee Bank in Memphis, Tennessee, and Citizens Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.

Education and Certifications:

Jim's academic background includes a BA in economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. A proud member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Jim has demonstrated his commitment to professional merit.
